The TN Promise Mandatory meeting has been postponed due to weather. New date will be posted as soon as we know.
Students and parents should have received an email regarding the closure from TN Achieves.
There will be no school this Friday the 19th.
The South Carroll Board of Education meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 18th has been canceled due to inclement weather.

Carroll County Schools will be closed Tuesday January sixteenth , Wednesday January seventeenth, and Thursday January eighteenth. Once again, Carroll County Schools will be closed through Thursday, January eighteenth.

Tuesdays boys and girls basketball game scheduled for January 16th versus Halls has been canceled. It will be rescheduled.
There will be no school on Tuesday January 16th due to inclement weather and extremely cold temperatures. Additionally we will be off Monday January 15th as previously scheduled.

Class of 2024 scholarship information. The CHS Guidance Office would like to provide the the following information:
Scholarships:
Tennessee Association of Conservation Districts wishes to award $600 scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to major in Agriculture and pursue a career in this field. The applicants must be accepted to a Tennessee public university. Please see Mrs. Tina Watson, school counselor, for application.
Deadline February 16, 2024.
Carroll County Soil and Water Conservation District wishes to award up to 5 - $500.00 scholarships to graduating seniors who plan on majoring in Agriculture and will pursue a career in this field. The applicants must be accepted in a Tennessee public college or university. Please see Mrs. Tina Watson, school counselor, for application.

Important information concerning CEP.
Clarksburg School recently qualified for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which allows the school to provide breakfast and lunch at no cost to ALL students, regardless of economic status. This program began on January 3, 2024.
TN Promise Mandatory Meeting is required for ALL Seniors to order to receive the TN Promise scholarship. Parents do not have the attend. Seniors will learn about the TN Promise requirements and get to know their tnAchieves volunteer mentor.

In the event of a closure, tnAchieves will notify students of any cancellations and rescheduled dates.

Important information concerning the away game at Humbolt today, January 9th:
Spectator Guidelines: All individuals entering the game must clear a metal detector. If
the detector goes off, you will be wanded with a handheld metal detector for safety
purposes and checked before entering the game.
○ No standing in the entry doors, near the playing floor or in the halls.
○ For the safety of all, children must remain seated with an adult. Playing or
standing in the lobby, halls, or restrooms will not be permitted.
○ Immediately after the game, all spectators are asked to leave the building.
Humboldt City Schools will adhere to the following protocols for attendees of all
athletic events on HCS campuses:
● No backpacks allowed
● No hoodies allowed
● Only clear bags allowed
● No outside food or drinks
● No weapons
● No smoking/vaping HCS is a smoke free campus
These protocols will be enforced at all Humboldt City Schools home games for all attendees

Important Senior information:
For your convenience, be sure to bring your own device to participate in tonights Senior FASFA meeting. Students can bring a school issued Chromebook or a device from home. Parents and cargivers are also encouraged to bring a device. The meeting is in the High School Library from 5-7.
Important information concerning our 2024 Seniors:
Don't forget: Lori Mitchum, outreach specialist with the State of Tennessee, will be at Clarksburg school on Thursday, January 4th from 5-7 in the High School Library to help our seniors complete their FASFA. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity.
Important information concerning tomorrow nights Boys Basketball game:
The scheduled boys basketball game for tomorrow 12/30th, has been cancelled. The girls will play Ridgeway at 3 P.M. but the boys WILL NOT play tomorrow.
All games will be played at Huntington.

We are very proud of our Clarksburg Students of the Month for the month of November.
Good things are happening at Clarksburg School.
Mrs. April’s 7th Grade students have been having a CELLebration this week as Christmas break was drawing near. Her students made 3-D models of plant and animal cells, and they turned out great!!
