Today is National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day. Clarksburg school salutes Deputy Tommy Decanter and Deputy Michael Verner for their tireless daily contributions to our school’s safety and security protocols. They are essential to our safe, daily operations. According to Dr. Norris, Director of Schools for South Carroll SSD, “Both officers are well trained and energetic towards meeting the needs of our student population. We are thankful for their leadership and the constant pursuit of protecting students and staff.”

Ms. Stoke's Senior JAG Class had a special guest speaker last week to discuss Jobs for Tennessee Graduates; none other than Mr. John Dwyer the President and CEO of JAG. It was a great time of learning and sharing from the President of JAG. We are so grateful he chose to take time out of his busy schedule to visit and share with our students at Clarksburg. Good things are happening at Clarksburg School. A quick bio about Mr. John Dwyer: After 29 years as a TV Broadcaster, John Dwyer is President & CEO of JAG Tennessee (formerly JTG), a Jobs for America's Graduates affiliate; under Dwyer's leadership, JAGTN has expanded to 31 programs in 20 counties. In the last seven years, JAGTN has earned the prestigious "5-of-5" Award, the highest JAG honor reflecting graduation rate and positive outcomes after high school. A major perk of our small town school is our excellent ability to collaborate. Anatomy & Physiology learned directional terminology and body cavities through a "gingerbread man dissection" last week. Today they practiced suturing with Mrs. Derryberry's Small Animal Science. Talk about a full circle learning moment. Good things are happening at Clarksburg School.
