The Governor's Early Literacy Foundation is partnering with schools across Tennessee to improve literacy by sharing a research-based text messaging program that will help you continue your child’s learning at home. It delivers three texts weekly with fun facts and activities to provide families with simple, engaging tips to help their children continue to learn while at home. This program will be for grades Kindergarten through 4th grade exclusively. See the attached materials for more information concerning this program.

We are so excited to honor our grandparents and similar figures on September 5th at 2:00p.m. In the A.D. Jarret Gymnasium. Grades PK-5th will participate in a small program with refreshments to follow afterwards.

South Carroll Special School District to Host Tennessee Highway Patrol Training at Clarksburg School
Huntingdon, TN – South Carroll Special School District and Clarksburg School, located at 145 Clarksburg Road in Huntingdon, will serve as the official training site for the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s 8th District from Monday, June 30 at 8:00 a.m. through Saturday, July 5 at 4:00 p.m.
During this period, community members may observe a significant presence of Tennessee Highway Patrol vehicles and troopers on and around the school grounds. Training activities will occur both inside the main building and around the outer structures of the campus.
Dr. Lisa Norris, Director of Schools for South Carroll, stated, “The District is pleased to offer the school as a training site to help in preparing law enforcement across the West Tennessee district to have a true picture to meet the needs of student safety.”
The training reflects a shared commitment between education and law enforcement to ensure the highest level of preparedness and school safety across the region.
