Scholarships

Seniors be mindful of scholarship deadlines.
Remember to apply for college scholarship opportunities for the college(s) you are considering attending.

For example: If you are thinking of attending JSCC, you will need to complete the College and Foundation Scholarship Application and the deadline is March 15, 2021.
Most colleges have scholarships they award to applicants meeting each scholarship’s criteria.
Clarksburg High School Common Scholarship Application deadline is April 15, 2021.
Wildersville-Beaver Ruritan Scholarship deadline is March 29, 2021. This is for students that live in Henderson County.

Letters of Recommendation

These can be provided by your teacher(s), counselor, principal, and possible others if they meet their expectations.

TN Promise Information

This is a reminder that the Class of 2021 TN Promise students’ mandatory meeting will be on TBA at the Carroll County Civic Center. Sign in will begin at 4:45 p.m., so we are encouraging students to arrive no later than 5:00 p.m. to ensure adequate time for sign in. At this meeting, students will learn more about the TN Promise college eligibility requirements, college enrollment processes and tnAchieves mentors will be in attendance to begin working with your students. The meeting will last one hour and students are required to remain in attendance for the full duration of the meeting.

It is mandatory for students to attend this meeting in order to remain eligible for TN Promise. Parents are encouraged to attend but cannot attend for the student. We ask that you or another staff member attend the team meeting as well! If a student has an excusable absence (see policy #2 on pg. 41 of the student handbook), the student must follow the excuse form protocol highlighted on page 8 of the student handbook and complete a meeting excuse form. TnAchieves must receive a completed meeting excuse form any time prior to the meeting or within 72 hours of the conclusion of the student’s assigned team meeting in order for the excuse to be considered. A student’s failure to attend the mandatory meeting will result in the loss of the student’s TN Promise scholarship. If a student is approved to miss their assigned meeting, the student will be required to attend another institution’s meeting to satisfy the mandatory meeting requirement. A full list of mandatory meetings can be found here.
If school is cancelled or released early the day of the meeting, the TN Promise meeting will be rescheduled and students, parents and mentors will be notified via email.

This is a last dollar scholarship for seniors who plan on entering eligible post secondary institutions the following fall after graduating high school. All criteria must be met in order to receive TN Promise and if not met students will not be eligible anymore for this scholarship.
